Crank Wobblers

Esox Lucius Crank Wobblers are what was traditionally known as an Alphabet Lure. They are so called because on their release, this type of lure was generally given a letter of the alphabet as its name – for instance the original Cotton Cordell Big O, the famous Shakespeare Big S, Bill Norman’s Big N and so on. However, where most of these Alphabet Lures were and are made from hollow plastics and had inherent leak and build quality problems, the Esox Lucius Crank Wobbler has a high quality finish and is made from wood.

“….. John liked the fact that they can take a good hammering and not fall to bits like some lures I could mention …..”

Alphabet lures have for a long time been a very successful lure that has been responsible for countless captures of pike – large and small. Some of this success maybe attributable to the fact that as a relatively inexpensive option, they have been used extensively by young and old, experienced and inexperienced lure fisherman and along with these extra hours in the water comes the inevitable success and then confidence. However, with a fantastic wobbling action and a great range of colours, the Esox Lucius Crank Wobbler refreshes the Alphabet lure and is bound to lead to renewed success.

“….. I was out in the boat ….. throwing these wobbling cranks and the pike love them, we had hit after hit on them …..”

We market these lures as a great early season bait where they can be cast and cranked quickly back to achieve great results. However, they are equally fruitful later in the season when the retrieve can be slowed and even twitched back in fits and starts.

We have two sizes available – 21g and 40g – in some great looking colours. They are finished in three layers of durable epoxy coating with the final one incorporating a clear glitter laden coat and they carry gun smoke coloured Mustad treble hooks.

We are running special prices for Crank Wobblers at the moment with the 21g version only £6.95 and an extra special Twin Pack offer for only £10.90. Click on the image below to access this offer or the images at the top or bottom of the page to access all of the other Crank Wobblers.

“….. my mate Andy borrowed the 21g Tiger pattern and he took 6 pike in no more than 40 minutes ….. with 5 fish lost in battle! I will be throwing this new 40g and Night Swimmer 21g this Saturday when yet again we will return to catch some more pike! I can't wait to see the results with these darker patterns …..”
